I've Got A Crush On You...Xyron

Good morning friends,
I am sad to say this is my last post for my DT term with Xyron and
what a wonderful term it was! :) For my last project I created a card
and a bookstand I turned into a home decor project.
Let me share how I created these projects!

Cut Crush On You card file using Silhouette Cameo or similar machine.
This card is 6X6.
Trim out Cardstock for the inside at 6X6.
Run card stock through Xyron 9" Creative Station.
Rub and peel.
Place cardstock- ADHESIVE SIDE UP in card so the sticky parts
show through to the front of the card.
Sprinkle with glitter and shake off excess.
Using Xyron High Tack Tape 1/2" place strip at bottom of the card
then apply a strip of vintage lace- press firmly.

Take acrylic LOVE Expression peel off protective film from the front.
Run LOVE through Xyron 9" Creative Station top side down.
Rub, peel and remove. Coat adhesive side with glitter.
Dust off excess.
Trim out paper to fit bookstand- run through Xyron 9" Creative Station.
Adhere to center of bookstand.
Apply Xyron High Tack Tape 1/2" at top and bottom or patterned paper.
Layer on Dazzle ribbon.
Cut apart LOVE Expression and use Xyron High Tack Tape 1/2" to adhere
it to the bookstand. Use Xyron Teresa Collins Adhesive Kit Pop Dots
to pop up half the letters.
Embellish using stickers and extra lace and Xyron High Tack Tape 1/2".
Now you have a great romantic home decor piece to use through Feb.
And a very glitter Valentine Card! All of them made so easy with Xyron!

So Basically Mom...You Love Me..

Good morning Happy monday friends!
I have a few things to share today from TV & Tutorials to Tattoos.

So remember those flowers I created for that box that was on HSN?
Well this weekend there was a tutorial featured on Samantha Walker's blog
that I created for making them.
And just in case you missed it- here is the video of my box on HSN!
The funny part? I slipped cards in the box in case they needed them
but no one knew LOL so it was cute when she opened the box-
Next time I will send a warning label! hahaha-
Oh and here is the link for the tutorial! :)
So excited to be back with SW and the gang! :)

And a VERY special even this weekend, for a few months now I
have wanted an Autism tattoo- and a month ago I sent an idea to my
artist Renee Johns in Nashville at Avenging Art Tattoo Shop.
This tattoo is what she and I came up with and this last Friday night
I sat for 4 hours and had it done!
It says simply "I will fight your fight" and it's an incredibly touching tribute to
my amazing boy with Autism and his struggles.

He asked me what "I will fight your fight means" I told him
to think of it like a boxing match, when he has trouble with school,
or bullies, or anything, I will always be there to help him and
fight for him. He said "So basically mom you love me"...well ya kid-
I guess that about sums it up doesn't it?

He loved the idea and loves the tattoo- he saw it when
I got home and said "SO COOL MOM".
I know my whole life seems to revolve around Autism right now
and I am probably boring some of you.
But when your child is sick- you go to the mat and you stay there
until it's right...so I am very proud to share my tattoo with everyone today! :)

Muah! Thanks for all your love and support!
Be back tomorrow with another cool project!

Autism Mom Copes Post~

Good morning friends, Happy Friday.
You know occasionally I interrupt my crafting wonders (lol) for a
REAL LIFE post- or Autism post.

I think this photo says it all- it encompasses every person his age he meets-
he melts down very loudly and  the other child looks at him like...
what the hell man? LOL It's pretty cute because this little boy is
very sweet with Gage- but we all feel this way at times when he is screaming.
As some of you know we STILL cannot get the school to acknowledge
my son's Autism or give us any assistance in any way because his grades
are very good. He came home with honor roll again.

It's funny that they admit he has dexterity issues and clearly social
issues but since he has good grades they are not responsible to give
any assistance. So now I let him fail- or we go on with no help.
I find neither a viable option. I really despise TN schools right now.
So the fight and struggle, frustration, and despair continues.

On the bright side we went to Ohio to visit friends and had a day of
sledding which I expected to be mayhem of meltdowns, but I was
surprised with only 2 slight meltdowns.

I think the sledding was freeing for him and he loved flying down the hill.
I so love this boy! LOVE!
He has always loved swinging and I think sledding gave him great peace.
I also think being around friends who don't judge and accept him 100%
makes it so much easier. It was a wonderful trip.
Here he is with a strange dog names Biscuit- this was one of his meltdowns
the dog acted like he was giving him the led but in fact ran off with it! LOL
My little man did not find this nearly as amusing as we did on the hill above.

So two things caught me this week and I mean CAUGHT ME!
This is the first- before we had a diagnosis of Autism I admit I allowed
people to say things about my son and "tolerate" him. They would say
"well I would have him over but he cries" or "I would like to have him around
but it's just too hard". OR "I will take your other kids I just can't handle him".
What I have realized is- the ONLY people who should be in our family
or friend circle are those willing to take the extra moment to see how incredible
my AUTISTIC son is. And if we have no one but our family left
then so be it, because if you cannot LOVE a child with special needs,
then your a giant dick anyways!
And we are so very blessed with people who go out
of their way to love my son and they see how amazing he is.
So I know those people exist. Unfortunately that means the others
just have to go find their perfect friends and love them, because
clearly we are not good enough for them.

The second thing I noticed was this.
Guess what? ALL my children always have been and always will be a blessing
so NO my son is not giving me a hard time, he is coping the best way
he can. He is not some malicious child out to do harm, he is overwhelmed,
over stimulated, and has so much pain and so many sensory issues
going on that it's like a torture chamber.

So get up and help me or get over it and walk away- because I love this
kid and I am protecting him NOT spoiling him.

Yea, I am a little rough today but it's been a long week and momma
feels it all too, it just goes into her heart and sits there while she's
dealing with everything else going on! :)

Muah! Love ya thanks for stopping by and listening to my Autism Life!!

Birthday Gift Set BLINGED UP!

Hello there crafty friends,
If you haven't stopped by lately then you missed
this project! :) I created it and it posted while I was in Ohio.

Now that I am back I thought I would share.
I used CutCardStock papers and one of my favorite TEAL colors!
and blinged it up with  my Xyron tapes-which I LOVE!
It was a fun project to create.
You can buy these adorable bags in most party stores
or cut and create your own with templates online.
Pick an area on the bag to glitter- use puffy paint to glitter the area.

Stamp OR print Birthday sentiment onto kraft paper or even a
bag you have cut up! Perfect for grocery bags. Trim it to 8.5X11 and
run it right through your printer!
Trim it out in the shape of a heart.
Take a plain white card and place Xyron Tapes around edges creating stripes.
Glitter over tape and dust off excess. A swifter comes in so handy for this.
Run the heart through your Xyron Sticker Maker.
Leaving the heart on the Xyron paper- use puffy paint again and
glitter edges. Shake off excess and leave on Xyron paper to dry.
Apply to center of heart and add a bow to both bag and card to coordinate.
Seriously anyone can do this- whether you craft or not it's easy peasy.
I just love this color combo.
Perfect for any party and any gift set!

Jars Of LOVE...My Favorite-

Good morning and hello Monday my friends,
I have a special card to share today and it has COPPER inked JARS
on it- that's right jars- Oh I love me some jars.
When I saw this new stamp set from Avocado Arts and the jars-
I just died a little inside from joy.
I layered and layered on this card because I wanted it to be shabby
and fun and just pretty.
A little Echo park paper and Kraft paper never hurt a card I tell you what!
I also added some ribbons and vellum too. All just goodness.
You can see these stamps and the cards I created on the AA blog right here-
 Stop by and say hello!
